Today I am going to talk a bit about an obsession of mine – home styling.
If you know me – you know I am super into all things home decor.
On any Sunday (or Friday night…) you can forsure find me walking around Home Sense.
Since I am currently looking at places hoping to move out in 2016 (yay!) I am always scoping out ideas for how I would like to style my own place.
This is a shot from my friend Mal’s condo – amazing right.
So here are few things that I am currently obsessed with when it comes to home decor and styling:
I mean who isn’t obsessed with marble? I love the look of marble countertops. It is so classy and clean looking. However – marble can be quite unforgiving and very pricey. My suggestion – if you aren’t completely married to the idea of it HAVING to be legit marble, look for a similar style in a different product.
I am so into the look of barn doors for either kitchen pantry’s, closet doors, anything really that requires a huge door. I love this look, and it is a really awesome way to add a bit of a more rustic feel into a classy and modern home. Not sure what I mean? Here is an example:
Statement Picture Wall:
So I have always loved the photo wall, whether it is made up of prints, actually pictures, or a combo of both. I also LOVE to take photos and document basically everything I do, so it isn’t completely shocking that I love this. My friend Whitney’s (Mal’s sister – great style in this family) parents have an AMAZING statement photo wall at their house that is made up of black and white photos of their family from the year, throwbacks, or just amazing photo’s they’ve taken throughout their lives. Sadly, I don’t have a photo of it to share here, so here is an example I found on Pinterest:
Bar (Coffee) Cart or Station
Bar carts are a trend that I have been super into for awhile and it all began with The Skinny Confidential (fab blog – check it out) showing off hers. Having a bar cart for yourself and your guests is great for adding your own personal style. They can be so cute and detailed with glassware, straws, even themes to fit specialty cocktails you may be having that night! If you aren’t sure what I mean – check out my New Years Eve bar cart post!
Not a big drinker? You can also do this with a coffee station! Cute mugs, different syrups, your espresso machine, and you’re set!
So these are a few things that I think are really great for home decor right now. There are so many ways to personalize your home to your style, how do you style yours?! Share below
