Hey guys! Happy Canada day weekend/Fourth of July/anything else you’re celebrating this weekend!
I’ve decided to post about something I love to do especially in the summer: read.
For a really really long time I was always reading. I constantly had a new book on the go and if I was particularly into it I would get through it in like a week.
Think Netflix season binges but with books.
However the busier life got, the less time I found to sit down and read a book.
A few months back I went to Chapters – picked out about 5 books, and surprise surprise I have already blown through all of them!
So here are some of my Summer 2016 book suggestions that I absolutely loved and think you may too!
The Widow by Fiona Barton is honestly one of the most entertaining books I’ve read in awhile. I was so hooked on this book I honestly could not put it down. I brought it everywhere I went and if I ever had a spare second I found myself wanting to read it. It’s a thriller murder mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat. Honestly, this is a MUST read.
The Girl on the Train:
Super similar vibes to The Widow, also really good and hard to put down. The movie is also coming out in the fall so I forsure suggest reading the book first.
I saw the movie ROOM awhile ago when I heard a lot of Oscar buzz around it. The movie was moving, heartbreaking, and inspiring all at the same time and I just knew I needed to read the book. Told through the eyes of a child, it was a fantastic read and I highly recommend it.
Me Before You:
So if you’re ready to cry your eyes out and fall in love and also hate the characters in a book at the same time read this book. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil it but read this book before you see the movie. (The movie doesn’t nearly live up to the book, sadly.)
So these are a few of my recent reads that I would suggest for summer 2016. If you have any suggestions, please please please send them my way! (Because I am out of books…) Oldies, new, favourites. Seriously anything!
